Prepare for Your Photoshoot

Prepare for Your Photoshoot

If you have an online presence -- no matter if you’re a life coach, a dog trainer, a yoga instructor or you teach online marketing strategies -- having professional branding and lifestyle photos can up-level your business, especially when you know when and where to use them!
This guide will help you plan and organize a photo shoot and outfit list and prepare for all the important (and often forgotten) day-of details you’ll need to be covered to ensure a smooth and successful photoshoot.

Planning for a photoshoot begins weeks, if not months, in advance!

This Guide will serve as the place to collect all your ideas for your photo shoot. This means that every time you see photos that you love and that would be a good fit for your personality and your brand, you’ll save them to a Pinterest board, an Album on your phone, a Google Doc, or physical bulletin board.

If you come across a photo of someone on social media that you really like the lighting of their photo, or a pose that they’re doing that looks natural, or you see a pretty outfit or piece of jewelry, or a cool location that you love....add all of these things to your Inspiration Collection. When you keep the inspiration in one central place you and your photographer can come back to reference for your photoshoot.

I also suggest you put together a fun music playlist on Spotify or YouTube to play during your photoshoot. Play it as you’re getting ready for the shoot, too. The music will help set the mood, relax you and keep the energy positive and upbeat.

Day-of Photoshoot Checklist
In order to have your photoshoot go off without a hitch, it’s important to be fully prepared in advance. This is your day-of checklist, but make sure to have everything ready to go at least one day in advance.
